Microsoft Xbox 360 Wireless Controller Review. A Superb Controller

If you have got an XBox 360 then you really must purchase a Xbox 360 wireless controller. You will save so much space and it is smaller than the old Xbox controller was. And no more tripping over wires !. A great and sturdy controller. This is simply put the very best controller to use for XBOX 360. The controller is comfy to grip with the buttons in easy to reach places. Pressing buttons never seems difficult or hard to reach. The controller has an amazing range and reacts well even at far distances.

To control it you begin with the blue X, yellow Y, red B and green A buttons. There are two thumbsticks, one on the upper left and one in the centre right. There is also a directional (d-pad) in the lower left.

There are a pair of shoulder buttons at the “top” of the unit, up above the other buttons.

A centre X button can be used to switch the console on and off, additionally a “start” and “back” tiny white buttons on either side of it.and the buttons respond properly

The unit has a rechargeable battery unit inside it, the size of two AA batteries. You have to buy a recharger set separately that permits you to charge up while you play. If you do not have a Charger it is well worth investing in one because you are going to be putting more money in batteries than you will in video games. Nothing is more painful than being in the middle of a game of Modern Warfare 2, with your gun aimed on a hapless victim, when your Xbox 360 all of a sudden says “Please Reconnect Controller.” !.

You plug the charger into the back of the controller – and the other end into the USB port in the front of the XBox 360 unit. You play with the controller “wired” as it charges up. Whenever it is fully charged again, you just take off the wire and keep playing. It runs for a long time on alkaline or rechargeable batteries

The wireless unit has a range of 30′ which is more than anyone will need.

The documentation says you can get 30 odd hours of gameplay between charges, but if you have features such as vibration on, that reduces the time down to maybe 8-10 hours. Vibration is powerful, but keep in mind that it “eats” the battery if used too much.

The wireless freedom is superb, and there are no interruptions while using the controller (when using other wireless gadgets, like bluetooth, cellphones etc…) Highly recommended!
