Halo 2: Best First Person Shooter on the Xbox

Halo 2 was released in November 2004, and it was a follow up game to the blockbuster smash hit Halo. The storyline in Halo 2 transpires after the events of the original Halo. There is a war between the Covenant and the humans (led by Master Chief). A good chunk of the plot was told via the covenant perspective. This provided a good change of pace from the Master Chief perspective presented in Halo. Since I recently reviewed Halo 3, I do want to bore anyone with the Halo 2 synopsis. Furthermore, I am not going to go into too much intricate detail about Halo 2. Here is Halo 2 in a nutshell.

Pros:

Gameplay (Halo 2 had dual wielding, hijacking vehicles, new weapons)

Audio (Halo 2 had brilliant music and voice acting)

Multiplayer (Halo 2 was the most engrossing Xbox Live game available when Halo 2 made its debut)

Storyline (Halo 2 had a plot that was better than the original Halo, and shed some light on the Arbiter)

Cons:

Graphics (Halo 2’s visuals are not up to par with other Xbox video games)

Length (Only a ten hour game)

The multiplayer added a great deal of replay value to the game. Overall, Halo 2 was a game that definitely was the best first person shooter on the Xbox.

Xbox Games For Online Gaming That Mom And Dad Should Know About

Xbox Games For Online Gaming That Mom And Dad Should Know About

If your kid has an Xbox and they play online you will often here them either yelling at the TV or talking to you about how awesome it is. You will often see your kid wanting to play role playing games or shooting games because they like the action and shooting. If you love to play Halo then you will love to play that type of game online. Your kid probably already plays the game and that’s what he has been trying to tell you forever. That’s probably all they talk about at the dinner table is online this and online that.

If you have a computer and an internet connection you can play any online game as long as you buy the game so you can make an account. I play Counterstrike and I love it. You just get online and start playing with your friends from the game. You will make friends fast online if you play a decent amount. The more you play the better you will get. Most kids that play computer games online play the most insane hours that you will ever hear. Kids somehow find a way to play more then 50 hours a week. It is in the stats on counterstrike if you were to look.

The other type of games that you might find your students or kids playing is the flash games online. While at school I used to play the flash games after I did my work because I had a computer class and I had computers in some of my other classes. We would get online and look for games that were fun until school was out and we could go get on the real servers and play real online games.

If you have an Xbox or a Sony Play Station then you probably already know about online gaming. All you do is sign up for the service and you play the type of games that are online enabled. You just go to the store where you buy your games from and you pick out the ones if you are playing online. Most online games are games like Gears of War and Halo 3. You can also find games like Call of Duty I think they actually just came out with a new Call of Duty game called Call of Duty – Modern Warfare. I heard it was a good game but I am not sure if it is online enabled. Although I am pretty sure that you play it online because most of the Call of Duty games you can play online. They are pretty fun you usually just go out and start shooting up the other team. There are role playing games and such like that but they don’t tend to make them online although they do have a few of them I think like Final Fantasy and games like those. I am not really into the whole anime theme like the fable games and stuff; online gaming is for shooting games in my opinion.

Farewell to the Xbox

Farewell to the Xbox

It is finally time to say goodbye to the Xbox. The big green machine has given gamers many amazing video game memories. In addition, the Xbox has made game developing companies like BioWare more popular. The Xbox has injected new life into a somewhat dead ninja franchise with the rebirth of the Ninja Gaiden video games. What does the future hold for Microsoft? The release of the Micorsoft Xbox 360 has had its fair share of glitches; (Red Ring of Death) however, the games (Gears of War, Oblivion, GRAW, and GRAW 2) have made a significant impact in the gaming industry. Hopefully, Microsoft will rectify those flaws associated with the Red Ring of Death. Until then, rest in piece Xbox.

Xbox 360 Reduces Prices on Console

Xbox 360 Reduces Prices on Console

Microsoft have announced that they will cutting the price of the next-gen console, XBOX 360. TechRadar was the first to confirm that the Xbox 360 will be dropping its prices. This announcement that Microsoft have decided to cut back on prices is a complete shock to retailers and consumers alike as no one expected Microsoft to make such a bold move. The initial leak apparently came from a member of staff working at Woolworths, UK.
VG 24/7 reports that they were told by a reliable source this morning that the announcement was jumped forward thanks to last week’s Woolworth’s leak. The price-drop is “an aggressive but not unexpected move by Microsoft” says Richard Burghy from UK.
This radical decision to drop the price of the xbox primarily concerns the standard 60GB Xbox 360 which is now retailing at £169.99. Cheaper than a Nintendo Wii! The decision is driven from the fact that the xbox is the longest serving next generateon console and as they make so many it basically makes them cheaper to manufacture.
On the other hand, the PS3 has no such plans of reducing the price of their console. However, they are worried about the move from Microsoft as the high price for PS3 has usually put off consumers.

I cant actually believe that Microsoft would do this but I am so happy that they have! I think the xbox is a great console with great games! I remember when the console first came out, it shocked everyone and it still holds its own against the ps3 and the nintendo wii! Bring the price down even more I say!

The Video Game Companies Battle: Xbox vs. Playstation

The Video Game Companies Battle: Xbox vs. Playstation

The companies that create the video game decks like Xbox and Playstation are locked into what seems to be a bitter rivalry for the top spot in the hearts of gamers the world over. While both systems offer similar concepts, games and graphics, there are still those that have their favorites. Favorites mean more sales for one company or another. Then one must take into consideration the new advancements that are made and when the new decks hit the market. All of this is highly important to the consumers that make the purchases and the companies that produce them.

This past year was a good and bad year for Xbox. The release of their Xbox 360 model, which is thought to be the most advanced of all video game systems on the market hit the shelves just in time for the Christmas rush. The shortage of systems that followed was good for the company as new orders went through the roof and many people were told they would be waiting at least six months to see their new system. The secondary market exploded and some of the machines were selling for three or four times the retail price before the final day of Christmas shopping.

The only downfall for the company seems to have been a mistake made in their rush to hit the market with the system. The new Xbox 360 worked on the same premise as a computer, with a hard drive and processor. The system was released though before all the bugs were worked out and the games were locking up during play. The manufacturer rushed to release a patch but the damage was done.

The same can be said for Playstation on the good and bad front. While their Playstation 2 was a highly advanced and functional system with hundreds of games, they needed to release something new and high tech. They announced the Playstation 3 game system to the market but gave no certain release date for the machine. Anticipation built in the months leading up to Christmas and still no word from Sony. Low and behold Christmas came without a new release from Sony on the Playstation front, setting the company back millions in the market and allowing Xbox 360 to take the lead.

Finally in the spring of 2006 Sony announced that the release date of the Playstation 3 would be even further off as they were facing similar problems to that of Xbox. This announcement actually helped the company in many ways because people saw it as a sign that the new machine would not have the glitches that came with the Xbox 360 which made all involved very happy. There is still no definite date for the release from Sony but one can be assured that when the day arrives it will be a mad house for people to pick up the new machine.
